Cast
Iron Protected
In applications where corrosion is possible,
the pressure tubes are clad with spigoted cast iron sections and
then expanded to ensure perfect thermal and mechanical integrity.
The interlocking spigot design of the cast iron sleeves ensures the
base tube is totally isolated from the corrosive gas elements.
Proved in many thousands of installations, the cast iron clad types are always
used in sulphuric acid plant and where gas temperatures may fall below their
acid dew point.
Combinations of Steel H in the hotter gas zones and cast iron in the cooler areas
are frequently the ideal choice.
